EFFECTIVE THURSDAY (SEPTEMBER 18TH)
Dear Parent(s),
This year is off to a great start! I am writing this letter to address some safety concerns with visitors in the building. The Board Policy states: ALL visitors must report to the office for a Visitor’s Pass before gaining access to the building. As a result, the following steps will be implemented at ALL TIMES.
PARENTS WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE BUILDING THROUGH THE MAIN ENTRANCE
First, if you would like to walk your child to class each morning or eat breakfast with your child, you MUST enter through the main entrance and receive a Visitor’s Pass (EVERY MORNING).
Parents must present a Picture ID. No one will be allowed past the main entrance without presenting a Picture ID. Also, no one will be allowed to check a student out of school without presenting a Picture ID.
If requested, the secretary will make a copy of your Picture ID to keep on file.
Second, NO cars are to park in the fire safety lane. It is illegal to park in this lane and your car may be towed if left unattended in this lane.
Third, NO visitors allowed in the building between 2:00 -2:30 p.m. Students are recording homework assignments and preparing for dismissal at this time. If an emergency arises at this time, parents should call ahead and let the secretary know.
Finally, these policies are in place for the safety of ALL students at JD Davis Elementary. As the Principal of JD Davis, your child’s safety is my first and foremost concern.
